Step into a world of imagination and insight at the Lyman Allyn Art Museum, where over 19,000 works of art — from ancient artifacts to American paintings and Victorian toys — bring history and creativity to life. Special exhibitions like American Perspectives and Louis Comfort Tiffany in New London help students explore art through cultural, historical, and personal lenses.
The museum is deeply committed to educational equity. Each year, it welcomes around 4,000 students and partners with local educators to design programs that align with classroom needs. Thanks to the Yellow Bus Fund, schools can access free or subsidized transportation, admission, and hands-on art activities — ensuring that cost is never a barrier to meaningful learning. Full subsidies are available for New London schools, with partial support offered to surrounding districts.
Whether you're planning a field trip, an on-site workshop, or participating in a summer preview day, Lyman Allyn offers rich, accessible learning experiences for students and educators alike — all rooted in the vibrant culture of Southeastern Connecticut.
