Built in 1825 from locally quarried stone, the Jillson House is one of Willimantic’s most striking architectural landmarks. Once home to inventor and millwright William Jillson, the house features rare ashlar masonry and a beautifully carved stone arch. After years of neglect, it was rescued from demolition in the 1970s thanks to local preservation efforts and is now home to the Windham Historical Society. The museum showcases artifacts and exhibits that celebrate the rich history of Windham and welcomes visitors to explore its legacy.
