Celebrate the rich legacy of Finnish Americans in New England at the Finnish American Heritage Society. Located in historic Canterbury, the FAHS Museum and Archive showcases artifacts, photographs, and stories that highlight Finnish immigrant traditions, from handcrafted folk art to community life. Recent interactive exhibits like “What We Bring With Us” invite visitors to reflect on the immigrant experience. Open May through October, the museum also hosts cultural events, craft demonstrations, and Finnish culinary celebrations. All are welcome to explore and connect with this vibrant heritage.

What to Expect: Our main exhibit is entitled "What We Bring With Us" and was designed to highlight the Finnish Americans who came to Eastern CT, but also encompass the experience of all immigrants who came to this country at the turn of the century.
